I realized that feminism has something half right….we do< in fact, live in a “rape culture”. The half part comes into play because, as far as feminists define “rape culture”, men are the victims of this system. In the western world, well most western countries, a woman can’t be charged with the rape of a man. At most it’s sexual assault which carries a much lighter sentence. If the woman gets pregnant from this she is entitled to child support from her victim. If a man says that he was raped by a woman he’s told to be thankful or to get over it. If the man is drunk and taken advantage of then he should have known his limit. If the man defends himself he runs the risk of being arrested for assaulting the woman (his attacker). When this problem is mentioned people say that men want it or that it’s not that big of a deal. So does that make feminists rape supporters, rape apologists, and victim blamers? On that same note, women have dogged men since time and memorial for being “horndogs”. Does that mean that women are guilty of slut shaming just on a much larger scale?
