It does seem like they are dumbing things down in order to cater to women who otherwise (largely) wouldn’t be able to figure out how to work them. Not just OSX but Windows as well and that cloud crap.

Seems that in the mad quest to cater to them, what constitutes “technical” is now social media and mobile devices.

Once I find a suitable equivalent to FileMaker in Linux or FreeBSD, I’m decommissioning my iMac, thereby ending my relationship with Apple.

I did the OS-X Server Administration several years ago for nearly two years. The Servers are o.k., easy to update and the Hardware upgrade is also simple…modular concept, but with HP Servers I have more fun.  I do not use the Apple stuff. A long time ago, I  had a friend who has an iMac G3, we named it the the smooch ball. I don’t care about it..LOL.

I once had a friend who had a computer he found in someones garbage, it was pretty messed up, so we decorated it with markers and tape. We called it the “ghetto box”. Unfortunately it has become the ark of the covenant of computers now and it’s whereabouts are currently unknown. Perhaps it’s lost to time and will never be seen again.

I forsaw the trend towards dumbing down Windows and technology in general, 8 years back. That’s when I started preparing for the apocalypse.
