My “biggest” was 5’11 and 160lbs, but I was very defined, all lean muscle. Now, I’m about to spend a year walking up and down the Appalachian Trail, so I’ll probably be thin again, and have ninja turtle legs lol.

I miss working out, though. I always did it for me, I felt good, I’d go in and crank some death metal while I lifted weights, then run.

That’s mad gains. I have lean frame so I was pretty much resolved to make the best of it. I found the high intensity interval type training was great for overall fitness and staying lean and shredded. Trouble is it is very hard work, even though it means shorter workouts. You can get an awesome full body workout in 30 minutes using that method but most people dont want to work that hard, and sometimes I cant blame them.

I mean, if you got that way by swinging an axe in a forest or pushing a cart in a mine or throwing ropes on a ship I could understand it… but just working out to be working out…

I’ve always said there’s only one person you can ever really try to prove anything to and that’s yourself… and you’re never going to believe it anyway because you already know the truth. Are you guys working out to impress yourselves? Each Other? Females?

I don’t want to be unhealthy or look like a marshmallow but when I hear people talk about fitness and gains I think “Fitness for what? Gaining what and for whom and why?”

Well, go ahead and let me have it, I’m sure I’ve kicked a hornets’ nest by even suggesting that busting your ass to get ripped is a pointless waste of time and energy.

Just my opinion: I’d say it’s for the same reason that most MGTOW’s don’t go around in sweats all the time. Presentation can be a huge help in the job hunting market, in making first impressions with potential connections, and just for feeling good about oneself. I remember reading something about how you’re much more likely to be hired if you’re likable than qualified. Even in straight, male-to-male interviews, we have a lot of subconscious biases that can work for or against us, and a lot of that has to do with appearances.

Now, if you already feel good about yourself, great! What YOU think is most important. I just also think there’s nothing wrong with putting on some muscle in the gym if you like the way it looks. I do think there should be an element of strength for things outside the gym for all men, but looks don’t have to totally go out the window.

To Liberty and Alexander: You guys both look jacked. Awesome job.

Weight lifting (for strength and looks) and martial arts were the two smartest moves I made in my teenage years. If I could do it over, I would have started earlier.

Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?
