I mean that in the sarcastic sense. This jargon was invented to explain why black slaves kept on trying to escape. Of course this jargon was so overly condescending that it’s hard to not feel ill. I suppose it’s worth visiting to day, since so much of what we’re doing today is similar to the escaping slaves of yore.
