I’m maybe truly sick five times a year tops. As in, so sick that I can’t go to work, out of my inability to function or for the safety of my coworkers. Last time I had to get excused from work for being sick was July, when I had strep throat. And yet these women seem to get sick enough to complain multiple times a month. I mean I’ve gotten a cold or felt under the weather, but I still don’t gripe to the internet about it, and I sure as hell don’t threaten to snap at customers just because I have the sniffles. Quoth Seinfeld, “What’s the deal?”

And frankly, it’s amazing women can get sick, what with all the pills and medicines they have in their bathrooms.

Therefore, it pleases me not to work in an office, or around malingering, attention-whoring c~~~s.

Over time, especially as beauty fades, some women develop chronic, impossible-to-define illness.  I am wholeheartedly convinced this is an attempt by some to cash in on the equity of being female, although they will never, NEVER admit it.

A male can’t be “sick all the time” and get endless attention.  He will very quickly be branded a malingerer or worse a useless failure.  But females can string out the sympathy of family and medical professionals endlessly.  “Female problems.”

Some of it may truly be a mental inability to grasp that their identity is changing from being a fertile female, and thereby the darling of the human race, to an infertile “human being”, with no more intrinsic value than a male.

After all, for a woman who is used to endless attention, the complete invisibility of being a semi-manly menopausal female must be a huge change.  They probably do feel like something is “wrong.”

They grave attention and revel in their self pity.
