I’m a little unsure of what this is. It seems like this a guy who avoids interactions with women but then goes a step further. Is this “extra step” that he also avoids interactions with other people, society, the government (or all the above)? And how does this fit into MGTOW (since this extra step doesn’t seem to be related to women)?

Part of the reason why I ask this (other than just curiosity), is that my impression of a Level 4 MGTOW is that he is a guy who essentially has “dropped out” of society. He’s a guy who is perhaps tired of busting his hump and just makes enough to meet his own needs. And I’ve been contemplating doing this myself; I’m at a point in my life where I can support myself working independently without a boss, without a clock, without the added stress, without the need to work hard just to buy things to please or gain the acceptance of others, but it’s also kinda a scary leap to make (professionally that is since you close doors that are harder to reopen the older you get).

I was wondering if this is what a level 4 MGTOW was and if anybody here has tried it and what their experiences were.

On the old / previous MGOW site there was a “4 levels of MGTOW” ( or Stages) that were used to classify the common phases a MGHOW might go through on his red-pill journey.

Like 1. Denial 2. Anger and 3. Acceptance….

But this is not really EXCLUSIVE to MGTOW. Meaning, other people go through these phases when dealing with harsh realities too. Like learning of a sudden death in the family. The “end game” for MGTOW varies. One might decide to move to the Phillipines and have like 5 girlfriends. One might retreat to the woods and build a cabin for himself. Another might live cowboy Curley from City Slickers. And another may live in the city, shag chicks like a machine but never marry or let any of them move in with him.

There are different degrees to “ghosting” and that’s what you’re talking about.

I recently saw a post on Facebook about a level 6 MGTOW called “the ARC level” . The meaning was unclear. But they admit to calling themselves a “sect” according to the definition of an actual “SECT”. They classified MGTOW as belief system” with an “illustrious leader named JIM” . Yes really. They call it the “MGTOW SECT: JIM CLUB”. Claiming 4 levels are not enough and you can reach “higher levels”…..

… so now you can begin to see why we stayed away from the “levels” in the first place.

I think that’s the term I was looking for. Thanks

Sounds vaguely familiar.  Sort of like “Coming clear”.

So since you asked about us personally, In my case, I am a functioning member of society but “ghosted” off Facebook, cancelled my cable 4 years ago and minimized my footprint exactly as you described with non-interest in having any dependents to work for and support beyond myself. Mostly it’s a perfectly normal life in every other way, with plenty of friends and working relationships…. and I have dated on occasion if it was effortless and the sex was free….. but I could take it or leave it, and don’t let it get substantial or let the state set a foot in my personal life. That’s out of the question.

I have also carved any toxic people/”friends”/associates out of my life that are unhealthy for me, and I am ruthless about that now. VERY low tolerance for anyone who doesn’t get back on emails, or return calls, or isn’t a genuine person with some values. Have no patience for it anymore.

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.

I’ve been doing something of an experiment after my second wife and I divorced in just scaling back. After we got rid of the house, I realized that about 90% of “our” stuff was hers, and how I hated having the TV and radio constantly on (which she had to have, even when asleep…jeez). So I moved into an efficiency, had no TV, and I loved it. In fact, I found my life was more efficient and I had more time, money, and energy to do the things I wanted to.

I’ve got to know some people who live in vans (no not down by the river…lol) . At first, it seemed like something low class losers do, but I stayed with a friend who lives in a nice campervan, and I really enjoyed it. I’m seriously considering getting a campervan and trying out the lifestyle. Does that sound like a stupid/crazy idea? I actually had one girl I was getting to know dump me after I told her this (said I was “totally irresponsible”), so I take that as a sign that I’m on the right road…

That’s a very appealing fantasy.

….. but It know myself well enough and it would probably be temporary thrill. If I had the means to do *anything*, I would probably f~~~ off to Portofino Italy, build a little – but VERY stylish – Neutra-style house on the cliff overlooking the Med, have 3 dogs, a boat, my own little vineyard, and be a writer. Like movie scripts, or comedy or something. Oh yeah, and I would finish my pilots license and get the “Le Jet” by Cirrus. It’s $1 Million.

A guy can dream.

The Airstream is lovely. Although I suspect if I did the “mobile lifestyle” (as I prefer to call it) it would be temporary, if I did decided to do it full time, I’d do something more upscale eventually (good thing about the mobile lifestyle from the analysis I’ve done is that you can save boatloads of money – the vehicle is a one time expense, but you need to get around anyhow, and when you take into account all you aren’t having to pay for, I figure I can sock away a decent amount of $).

After this year, my life will have settled down to the point where I can decide. I think it’s probably worth a try, and that maybe part of me just needs to just get away from the noise of society and have this degree of freedom right now.

One is a couple who married late in life, both are grandparents, and I know them personally. Others are people whom I have come across in state parks and Walmart parking lots. (Walmart is no fool. They know these people are customers, and they do not begrudge them a parking spot in the outfield of their copious parking lots — not in my town, at least.)
