That is, based on that voter’s karma, his vote will increment at varying rates. If a man has high karma, his upvote will increment that post by several points instead of one. If someone has little to no karma, than he’ll only have one point. If a user has negative karma, than she’ll lose the right to upvote at all.

It could be something like:

  • Negative Karma: no voting
  • 0, 500, 1 vote
  • 501, 1000, 2 votes
  • 1001, 2000 3 votes

etc.
