To all single men out there (and hopefully that is a growing and soon to be unanimous number of you) – don’t be this guy (blue pill me). So I was on one of the online dating sites around fall of 2005 and came across what seemed like an interesting lady. Not long into our “chat” she mentioned I was not “for her”, but she had a friend with three wonderful boys (BIG red flag – cut and run) I should meet. Like the blue pill schmuck that I was then, I agreed and met “Peg”. She described Peg as very attractive and great company. So we planned our first date. Met at a local coffee shop. Turns out this “beauty” was a tired looking hag(maybe attractive 15 years ago) who had 3 young boys both elementary school age. She rambled on about her “bifurcated divorce” (legally over – but the “details” like vaginamony and child support, property etc still to be worked out ). Not wanting to be rude, I stayed to finish my coffee. Then excused myself. Upon returning home, I received an email that “she did not feel a connection – but would like to be friends”.  I did not reply but about two days later, this baggage heap actually “withdrew” her “offer” of friendship. I have news for you, lady. One, I would rather befriend a rabid skunk in heat then someone like you. Two, your friends definition of attractive and fun to be around needs a little work. And last but not least, why would any man want to live through the misery of your “bifurcated” half ass divorce, three “wonderful” brats and the personality you obviously developed in a some horrible accident. My brothers out there – these c~~~s are not worth a SECOND of your time. Never take a “referral” date from anyone, let alone anyone online. And if she is not completely divorced and over her last relations~~~ and has kids – put on those Nike’s and run.

Words to live by. They are NOT arranging it for your benefit. And when, not if, things go south you will now also be in an awkward position with whoever tried to fix you up. They will never admit to having steered you wrong but will assume it’s all your fault.
