I’ve been lurking long enough that I think I should introduce myself. The short form of the story is that I’m in my late 40s, never married, no children, not been on so much as a date for almost 20 years, and haven’t missed women at all since. And all this time I’ve been ashamed, thinking there must be something wrong with me, or at least that I’m a big coward, and wondering how many others think so too. But having stumbled less than a month ago onto red pill in general and MGTOW in particular, now I think I must be either brilliant or lucky. At the moment I’m leaning toward lucky.

As for the longer form of the story, what should I say about my upbringing? I lost my father (with whom I never got along particularly well) to illness when I was a teenager. My mother did her best to raise me those last few difficult years until I went off to college. Both of my parents were very imperfect, but did the best they could with the resources at their disposal. Again, I was lucky. It could have been much worse.

My young adulthood wasn’t easy either. For most of the last 15 years, I’ve been living a life of escape. The ways of the vidya and the animu are both well known to me, even still. (And I’ve only just realized that Men Being Awesome is the common thread in those few anime series that have particularly captured my imagination. Most anime series are about Girls Are Cute, or Women Have Breasts, or Manginas Are Dumb. But I digress.) Something changed about 5-6 years ago when I took part of my life back by losing 1/4 to 1/3 my body weight. I felt on top of the world until work pressures led to my very nearly having a nervous breakdown a few years ago. I’ve made some changes which I believe strongly in, and will even be changing jobs soon to something I think is more in line with my temperament and abilities.

But what difference does any of this make? None of this compares to the stories I read on this website and others. I had no idea things were this bad concerning divorce in Western countries. I was thoroughly in what I think you’d call the “tradcon” camp. But something just didn’t add up. I thought, Maybe it’s in some sense true that men won’t “man up” and commit to marrying their women and raising their families “properly.” And certainly too many marriages end in divorce, for people with all kinds of religious backgrounds (or no religion in particular). But WHY are these things happening?

I think it’s Occam’s Razor that dictates basically that when you find the simplest possible explanation that solves the largest possible number of problems simultaneously, then chances are you’ve stumbled onto truth, and are probably safe in “cutting off” all the more complicated explanations. And that’s what I felt was staring me in the face as I spent most of a week reading, and reading, and reading — just like many of you I’m sure. I didn’t agree with all of it, and I liked almost none of it, but I couldn’t deny its explanatory power.

Like my username indicates, I’m Just A Prof, of a STEM field. And the implications of Red Pill on what I see going on at my institution — the privilege granted to a majority-female student population by a majority-female faculty and administration — are almost enough to take my breath away. No wonder I almost needed to be committed a few years ago. And what breaks my heart the most is that probably very few of the ones in power are fully aware of what they’re doing and why, or that they’re doing none of the students of either gender any favors in the long run. They’re just acting on what they themselves have been taught all their lives.

I see my 50th birthday coming in a few short years, and I feel like I’ve never had so much to learn and so little time to learn it in all my life. Also people tell me I need to lift. Women? Even if I felt attracted to them at all, which I don’t, there’s no time. Going my own way? I already have been for almost 20 years, so I might as well stop doing it wrong.

Other than that, I’m Just A Prof, and probably completely harmless. And I hope we can get along. 🙂

It is arrived at by men questioning the cost–benefit analysis of a woman. What do I have to give up versus what do I gain. Today, you have to give up a lot, and you gain very little. Mgtow is not a movement, nor does it need spreading; it is something every rational man grasps after having dealt with the modern t~~~. Welcome aboard.

I like the Occam’s Razor bit, it immediately put a whole new spin on all the ultra convoluted feminist double speak out there.

We are just ‘sleepers’ operating normally until one day we get a phone call, tv ad or something that says that trigger word.

We drop everything, lift the hidden panel in the floor and take the red pills ☺

It’s 3.08am here in Uk. Im just out of hospital after spine surgery. Woke up in pain but I can tell you there is no better distraction than knowing a sleeper has awoken.

Welcome prof and be active here.

I had no idea things were this bad concerning divorce in Western countries.

If you think that’s bad, then here’s the stats on child abuse and infanticide in the western world. It’s 70% women / 30% men committing both. In other words, more than twice as many women are abusing or outright killing their own children than are their fathers (or mommy’s latest boyfriend).

I wonder if the new boyfriend isn’t the bulk of the 30% of the male perpetrators.

Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

Although if I could amend one thing I wrote, I wish I’d been clearer and said that I had no idea things were so bad with respect to men concerning divorce in Western countries. What I’ve read so far of the Red Pill explains all this and more so much better than anything else I’ve yet encountered.

EDIT to add wishes for a speedy recovery to ILiveAgain. 🙂

My gut reaction now is — how could the fathers kill their children even if they wanted to, if they’ve been divorced and banished from the home that they still have to support financially on pain of jail time?

Wait! Hold on! Let me guess how this song ends. Even when men are convicted of these horrible crimes, they get disproportionately worse sentences compared to women convicted of the same horrible crimes. Am I in the ballpark?

It just goes on and on, how many things Red Pill explains.

The only reason women want men to “man up” is so they can  live off of them…
