They have no excuses when someone living in the same situation as them grows way past the low expectations they set for themselves. My mom tries to get me to be “normal” and told me that “many people hate their jobs, it’s just the way it is” as if I should give up on doing anything extraordinary. Most people are dumbasses who are afraid to do anything great, learn from their mistakes.
