Pornography Viewership By Nations

To the simpleton observer, one would see this and blame religious repression. However, in my opinion, the people who say that this is solely due to religious repression are missing the forest for the trees.

What we see happening here is the byproduct of repressed gynocentrism. Religious repression is merely a symptom of repressed gynocentrism. Not the cause.

For example, in Islamic cultures, the women are deified into goddesses and holier-than-thou princesses, who must be kept hidden from the eyes of men except her husband. Couple this with taboo in Islamic cultures on things such as mastrubation, this creates a culture of hypersexualization where sexual desires of the human male does not find a safe outlet and as a result, we see this kind of porn statistic.

The same applies to India and Southeast Asia though at a much lesser extent. I mean, India a very gynocentric society where the women are viewed as special goddesses who should be worshiped. Southeast Asian societies are responsible for the creation and raising of many men with repressed sexuality who look toward pornography to satisfy their male mother need.

Hence the specific pornographic search terms as well.

By contrast, North America and secular Europe, places which have been “sexually liberated” and the places that produce most of the porn material, are not in the Top 10 because the males in this environment face a hypersexualized environment of a different kind, where the women shows it all instead of covering it all up. As such, pornography is not as in demand in these regions as they are in the Middle East or Southeast Asia because of the sexual liberation which has caused a deregulation of the sexual marketplace in said regions.

It is truly amazing to look at studies like this and see beyond the simple religious repression and to get to the bottom of the rabbit hole.
