It suddenly got better when Reagan was elected.  Now as a civilian I have hellish prospect of working for a fat pregnant negress CDR named Donelson.  This posturing c~~~ is so dumb she can’t even run a meeting. Now I have the faux “Marine” named Ketzy Ramos who postures and swaggers around the office.  The only solution is the one I took.  I resigned.

There were many good things about it, but most of the enlisted men, some of the officers and all of the blacks were incredibly bad.  Women were not allowed aboard ships at that time and I only encountered them ashore.  My first encounter with women in a command environment was here.  With a couple dozen other guys I was going through a ships bridge trainer (at the OCS in Newport RI).  There was a female LTJG who was in charge of the session, and she was walking through the various bridge simulators posturing like John Wayne.  When she got to my simulator, she walked up to me and shouted a question.  She was maybe a little over 5 feet tall, and I’m 6-4.  I stared down into her face and answered the question calmly, noting the acne pock marks on her cheeks, the blotchy makeup, and wire-like hair.  The size gap between the two of us made the preposterous swagger that she bore even more ridiculous.  I’ve never been able to respect a woman in authority since.  I pretend when I have to but it’s a thin veneer.  I work for the Navy right now and it is so bad, I don’t think the Navy could seriously defend this benighted republic.  I have many other stories and will add them if asked.
