I recently got so fed up with the lack of choice men are given in clothing I decided to screw it all and start making my own clothes.

I got tired of every time I found a shirt made from even *slightly* above average material and well fitted it was like $200 or $300.  Same for pants. I started making my own out of fabric I found interesting and eye catching and it really does make a difference, for example when I go out to meet women. They assume I’m wearing an exotic designer from Italy or somewhere since they’ve never seen anything quite like it. That in turn helps give me that little edge to “stand out from the pack” so to speak that they respond to. I even landed an IT gig at an advertising company party because they found my clothes so interesting.

I’m really tired of women and gay guys from the fashion world dictating what I should wear as if they’re connected to some higher consciousness that we should prostrate ourselves before.  Nothing against gays mind you, I just don’t think they have the goals of a hetero male in mind when they’re deciding what looks good. Same for women designers.

The responses I’ve gotten from my “clothing line” thus far have been so spontaneously positive that I’ve decided to make it into a business.

My main demographic would be MGTOWs and specifically the IT/STEM/Geek crowd.  Could you guys give me some thoughts on what kinds of clothes that for you would help project confidence and poise? Also, what would you be willing to pay for a shirt or pair of pants if it just looked really awesome and unique?

PS: I’ll post some pics when I’m able so you can see what I’m talking about.

I am not going to follow my own trends and do damn well what I want as far as clothes go.  If I can do it cheap that is a bonus.

You could wear them to the office for example, but you’re guaranteed to get asked where you got them.

Can I assume that’s a typo up there and that you ARE going to follow your own trends?

I’m torn as far as the cost goes.  From a business perspective it makes sense to try and get the “Geffen good” thing going where demand increases as the price does as well. The “status symbol” effect.  The idea is for MGTOWs and STEM types to be able to project success. On the other hand, I don’t want to be in in the same boat with the “high fashion anointed” crowd where paying a fortune for a piece of clothing makes it all the more “fashionable.”  I just don’t want to do that to my fellow MGTOWS and STEMS.

Would $80 – $100 for a REALLY cool shirt and $100 – $150 for really cool pants be out of the ballpark?

Do you know if the symbol is public domain or if not who owns the copyright?  Also, I’d be curious to read more detail about incorporating the philosophy into the clothing – any ideas on how to do that?

My approach to that is to make clothes that help with the “peac~~~ing” effect so important to the pickup process.  Not to the point depicted in the above video, but enough that people notice that it’s clearly not something you bought at the mall or wal-fart.

I believe getting clarity into the different schools of thoughts regarding what MGTOW is, would help to get a viable business.  Idea is to have things that would resonate with MGTOW out there.  Whatever is done, needs to be a way of personal expression for a MGTOW.

I think you should design clothes as you so desire and sell to the people that like your design style. You will never be able to satisfy all the different men of MGTOW, and trying to may lead to total failure. So find your niche within MGTOW and good luck.
