I hope it is legit, but I am always wary of lawyers. The most important thing is to make sure they are looking out for your interests, not just putting out an appealing marketing campaign to drum up business and billing for their time.

There is one of those male oriented law firms advertised in northern california. They have a passionate manly sounding commercial that talks about keeping kids and saving assets, but the common knowledge among their former clients is that once you pay the retainer- BAM -they give you some female paralegal who doesn’t give a s~~~ about men’s rights, your money, your time, or the outcome of your divorce.

Hate to sound cynical, but anyone saying they will make YOUR life easier or better is selling you a mountain of bull s~~~.

Remember, NOBODY gives a f~~~ about a man with an empty wallet.

I agree that doing research beforehand is good practice and getting reviews from past clients if possible.

I had a feeling this was too good to be true – what are they gonna do? Magically bend the law and influence the feminist biased court systems to soften up out of left field? That’s Hollywood, not real life. Real life isn’t The Notebook. The answer is DO NOT marry – if you need cohabitation with a female to feel complete, keep under 6 months or less than 3 nights a week so that you significantly lower the risk of her ruining you through “common-law” bulls~~~. She cannot use your address for anything (not even Amazon orders and if she does try that s~~~, IMMEDIATELY refuse as return to sender) and use her for the only thing she is worth until you get bored.

Again I totally agree with everything you’ve said here …. but ….

It doesn’t help the guys that are trying to get out of the trap they’re in.

Yes the odds are legally against them but … even an extra hour a week with the kids…… $50 a month less on payments ….. contact with the school …. any little thing that will help a guy out …. is worth the try …. surely.

In that aspect you are unfortunately correct. The only problem is it seems from research on this that these are just another type of predator that profit on the helplessness of men in the divorce process… There is no beating the system and it’s sad to see a man be stripped of everything. I wish there was more of an answer but I feel like these predators will only make the financial burden for the man worse in all likelihood since they will still get the lifetime of shackles that come with divorce and another new lawyer bill to top it off – I wish I were wrong.
