The only memorable abuse came from my last serious ex. I haven’t had many partners in life because I’m a very quiet person in life unless someone gets to know me.

So after knowing this girl for about a year the problems started. When I met her I told her I don’t believe in marriage and at that time, after my father’s death I said I was looking for a flat to move into. At this point I had moved into the flat she was living in – things had moved too fast but I was in lust so I was the one to suggest living together.

At one point she asked me to promise I’d never say the new place was just mine and that I would never say anything to remind her that it was my place and not hers. However, before we moved to my place from her rented flat (apartment) I knew she had cheated on me so things started to fall apart already.

I had become colder and more logical compared to her rising emotional craziness and I was actively deflecting or challenging her comments about why I should change to suit her needs. We argued every time we drank and we drank a lot because at a certain point I couldn’t stand to see her without being drunk (this did start my problems with alcoholism).

She would berate me and say I’m useless and couldn’t do anything at all. I was the one cleaning the flat, walking the dog, making dinner, buying everything, taking her out and buying her trinkets. Once I stopped the abuse became physical. It was one night of heavy drinking for the both of us that I told her to spot acting like a bitch. She never liked that and kept saying I was calling her a bitch even though I wasn’t. So she slapped me hard.

I didn’t react because of course, women are privileged and if I had touched her back I’d be in jail. Instead I grabbed her wrists the next time she tried to slap me and help them firmly in one hand as she railed while I calmly stood there, as best I could considering I was as drunk as she was and almost furious at the slurs she was spouting.

It was then that she started screaming obscenities about how I was treating her badly in her own flat. I let her go and looked on her with pity before telling her calmly that it was my flat and not hers. She threw her keys at me and I kept them as she stormed off with the dog outside. I let her stay out there after locking the door for most of the night. I had a nice nap on the bed.

After that the break-up went full force and blah blah. Yeah it wasn’t the crazy s~~~ kind of abuse she used against me that you hear in stories but it was abuse. She was an abusive c~~~ that got mad because I wouldn’t conform to her will. Maria Panenka is one of those kinds of women who are the perfect example of why men are going their own way.
