The dominant role of Furiosa: This really isn’t the case. Yes she is a main character up there with Max, but she is only dominant by herself at the beginning of the movie. The movie gets started with the main plot and the action right away and it makes sense to have more of Furiosa because Max not only doesn’t have a reason to help her at the moment, but he can’t. Furiosa needed to provoke the villains so they had a reason for Max to be out of his cell and eventually meet up with Furiosa. Once Max becomes part of her group the spot light is on both of them which isn’t a bad thing.

The range of atypical female roles: Yes this movie has way more female heroes then male ones. Counting Max there is only 1 other male hero in the movie, but there is nothing wrong with that. Given the movies plot it makes sense to have more female heroes and unlike many other female characters that are deemed “female empowerment” that are really just annoying and pointless *cough* Frozen, the women in Mad Max are actually strong and kick ass. Instead of crying about being a victim or considering all men are evil, the former sex slaves actually not only help out with repairs on the vehicle’s, but actually fight back against the villains nor do they treat Max or the other man as potential rapists just because every other man they met was one. These female characters are everything feminist don’t want women to be: strong, resourceful, pretty, aren’t afraid to fight back, and can either hold their own in a fight or come close.

Max giving Furiosa the last bullet because he knew she was the best shot: Clearly the feminists are grasping for straws on this one. Yes he gives her the last bullet after he missed twice, but it isn’t a feminist issue or equality issue. It is freakin common sense. “Wow I just missed twice and we only have 1 bullet left. I better give the gun to the person who is a better shot then me”.

We all know that many women and all feminists are too lazy to do s~~~ and will try to interfere with anything a man has done and this is a prime example. They saw how this movie had many female leads and turned it into a feminist movie so they could be a part of it without doing any of the work. If it is still at the theaters where any of you live I suggest you go see it, you won’t be disappointed. It was a great 2 hours near constant car chases with tons of ass kicking. If not then make sure to rent it when it comes out because other wise you are missing out. Finally even Anita Sarkeesian herself said it wasn’t a feminist movie and I think for once we should just listen and believe the bitch lol.

It’s like Gay people who like to think Bert and Ernie on Sesame Street are Gay lovers, I even read a while a go about a Muslim man who sees the Star Wars trilogy as a reenactment of the Koran.

From what you say the film gives me some more hope about it but there will always be people who just want to see films and songs etc the way they want to and make a political statement out of it.

However…when they do some awful s~~~ like turn Thor into a woman…that would be something I would boycott if it ever made it to the theater.

I saw it and I think it was very feminist. Quotes include “one man one bullet”, “You (men) destroyed the world”. It’s not feminist by being girl power. It’s feminist by being anti-male and portraying males as savages and oppressors. Who are they oppressing in the movie? women. the whole movie basically portrays the radical feminist narrative of how our world is.

I look at it as women are too lazy to take charge and run society so naturally it falls to us men. Power corrupts and the people in charge got corrupted. The one man one bullet line seems fine to be since the men in question were evil. Men were also oppressed to. The men where either like Max who were kept in a cage because of their blood, forced to work and die for the leader like so many of those bald guys, and there were just as many peasant men as men back at the Citadel too.

I haven’t seen the film however it doesn’t surprise me that Feminists and Magina’s are jumping on Feminist aspects even if they are small or barely existent in the film.

Or the supposed upcoming Black Widow film that will be made some day. Feminists think her getting a solo film will be this huge victory for female superheroes even though Marvel seems to realize she can do more when in team based films.

that’s how you look at it but that’s not what the movie showed.  the movie shows a patriarchy using women as breeders and milk factories.  it never says that was because women were too lazy to run things.  the one man one bullet line was done as a nod to feminists.  the 2 grannies look at each other with a knowing grin on their faces right after it’s said.  don’t be naive on that one.  The whole granny squad idea was retarded.  and of course they’re a peace loving, seed carrying matriarchy.  how did they survive?  by trapping men with vagina.  the movie is clearly an allegory.  it’s the feminist narrative done in a post apocalyptic setting.  the men were oppressed but they were shown as loving their life of war and violence, also a stereotype of men that feminism encourages.  the poor people who were given water at the end simply represent that feminism is going to liberate both men and women which is horses~~~ in reality.
