Why do women state in online dating profiles that they don’t like to talk about themselves? Take this POF profile as an example.

I see women write that a lot, but is clearly bulls~~~. Women love to talk about themselves and their feelings, emotions, yada yada yada! As I talked about in another thread, they don’t know when to shut the f~~~ up.

That’s why a lot of them use their looks to get your attention. They don’t want to give out important information about themselves, because they want to reach the right moment to let you know and therefore you can do nothing to stop it. Don’t bother with this woman, especially people like her. Seems to stupid to have a dating profile and not want to talk about yourself.

I personally don’t like talking about myself.
I mean, I really hate it. The only times I talk about myself is when I’m p~~~-drunk, and by that I mean totally-f~~~ing-p~~~-drunk.
Even then, I refrain from giving away stuff I deem too personal. I just don’t like it.

So for me it’s a big f~~~ing joke when I see women saying this kind of stuff.
If you don’t like talking about yourself, you just don’t bring that up in any form of conversation, because, well, you’re not supposed to like talking about yourself, right? So why mention that on your profile, since people will obviously then ask questions about you, right?

It’s just another mind game, they expect you to start questioning them about why they don’t like talking about themselves. Or also it’s a way for them to pretend that they’re not as narcissistic as the rest of the bunch, which is bulls~~~ for the most part.

If they really didn’t like talking about themselves, they wouldn’t even be on a dating site.
End of story.

She is lying. She may not know it in her conscious mind — I think she does and is doing it on purpose. Deep down, she knows she is lying. Like the saying goes, “it’s a trap!”

She doesn’t like the fact she has to resort to online dating. She is 33. She never had to ‘talk about herself’ before being offered drinks and other perks in her 20s.

Creating a dating site profile and including the mandatory cleavage shot she is trying to re-create the long gone era of her youth. It will still work for a few years helping guys get off on their keyboards.

She will really not like talking about herself at 40. Because there isn’t much to talk about.
