A couple I once knew were strict vegetarians. That is, she was and hubby and kids went along ,.. or else! One day, hubby took the oldest boy somewhere, and they stopped at McDonald’s for burgers.

She found out about it.

You would have thought he fed the kid insecticide, the way she carried on.

They got divorced a couple of years later. No surprise there, except why did it take so long?

Interesting to what length men will go to stay in a relationship even though its f~~~ed up.

I have a friend like that. Everytime he talks about his girlfriend, it looks like he’s bored to hell with her bs, but he stays with her. It’s not even a relationship anymore, it just became a bad habit.

Because their kids will want to play and the wives get upset that the kids will keep asking so they tell their husbands no M rated games.

She won’t tell the kid “no”, she’ll demand that the husband says “no” (making HIM the “bad” parent).

I have two nephews, 11 and 13, and whenever they ask their mom for something, she says “Ask your father” (assuming he will also say no).

Sometimes he says yes, and she chews his ear off (in front of the kids) about “good parenting and setting boundaries”.

One time, she did that while I was there, and I asked her “Why didn’t you just say no in the first place?”

I got the “eye of death”…

Yep i see it all the time, men are afraid to leave. Often we need the attention of another woman to leave the one we are with. We have to stop being cowards and take charge!
We have been told our entire lifes to take care of the weaker sex, but they dont give a f~~~ about us!

It used to be women that would hide the shopping bags.

Saying no to your kids isn’t hard, but you MUST take to the time to at least give them a brief explanation of why, or some acknowledgement that their perception, experience, and feelings matter. Even if it’s just “that’s grownup stuff and there will be plenty of time for that for you later.” Or “it’s not a good thing for kids. There’s a lot of things that might be hard to understand or scary and you’ll enjoy it a lot more when are older and have learned some more things, have more experience, etc.”

Basically anything to let them know that your decision is not based on some selfish motivation but out of genuine concern for their development.  Also, you MUST say yes sometimes when it’s appropriate. In fact, say yes as often as possible, give them real choice/control as often as possible (and safe, prudent, etc).

This way they will understand that when you say no it’s not some arbitrary or selfish decision – they will KNOW down to the fiber of their being that you are doing this for them.

The amazing thing that I’ve found with my kid is that after taking this approach for long enough and consistently, she has developed a remarkable capacity for self governance. If there’s even a little doubt, I get asked “is this good for me to watch?” And more than once I’ve put something on tv or a video game on and  had her say something like  “No…no. I’m not watching this! This isn’t kid appropriate.”  [This happened a few times when I put on a PG-13 movie with some violence / scary parts, or a similar video game]

Bottom line: Kids are human beings and need to be treated with a little respect(NOT CODDLED though) and not treated like a machine or consumer good with a warranty. If you can master that, like most any other human beings, kids will respond positively.

I bet MGTOWs make the best parents overall.
