Replace the object of lust from her speech and you can apply that philosophy on just about anything in life. You have to live and experience life yourself and not just through readings. That is not to say abandon reading books or learning history but without personal experience or wisdom as she called it, they are all abstract stories without context.

Being a multidimensional person will help you in all your deals with people. Especially if all you know are video games. I have started talking to some seriously knowledgeable people when it comes to gaming but when the topic shifted they no longer had anything to add. To be a complete person requires mastery of a few subjects but also an adequate knowledge on many more. It helps to show that you have had experience in life and thus easier to listen to.

The guy in the last panel was kinda of pathetic though. He seemed to recall she had a boyfriend even after 30 years along with her dating patterns! Yeah he did not seem obsessed at all. Also it did not show he had any special skills that would allow him to rise the corporate ranks, especially if all he did was play rpg’s.

I get what the author was going for but maybe it need another transitional panel to flesh out his point better.
