I joined a fantasy writing website to discuss my story ideas and discuss writing in general and it’s chalk full of these SJW’s that think it’s horrific that the fantasy genre is too “white” and “racist”. Where the hell do they think the fantasy genre originated from?

There’s little to no asylum from all this garbage. You’d think there would be people out there that think and behave like adults and can keep their politics in check.

To add one more point, it sickens me to the extreme that the artistic community has become so toxic and chalk full of hacks that have no business calling themselves authors, painters or anything else along those lines. I’m no Hemingway but my story ideas are at least based on integrity and not trying to write dumb downed s~~~ that assumes the audience is just a bunch of imbeciles that need their hands held and everything explained to them.

True that, man. Especially the second part. The entitlement of some people in the “artistic community” just makes me sick. I’ve tried to put together some pitches for independent comic publishers so I can get my name out there, be published and every artist I’ve ever talked to, hack or skilled but not published says the same thing: “What are you paying me?” Uh. Nothing. You get paid if we get hired, same as me. Why would you get paid while I have to work and lose money paying you? I hear you on the people that think fantasy is too “racist”. Definitely agree on the artists wanting to be paid up front. I can see paying someone for concept art if you are in the brainstorming stages, but then it becomes a big legal quagmire, even if they give you the rights to it. All of sudden you get published and they decide to have a change of heart.

No way in hell I could ever put a team together to create a graphic novel, or at least a few chapters to try and sell to a publisher, unless I won the lottery.

If there’s one thing I wish I had started working on when I was a kid it would be learning to draw. I’d have a lot of the work done by now, instead I’m at the mercy of other people if I really want to pursue a project.

I’ve been trying to teach myself. I’ve gotten better, but I’m a long way from being “professional”.

The fiction world has become wayyy too hostile of anything that isn’t “PC”, though. Feel like all the women are taking over which sucks because for the most part, they’ve put out s~~~.

The protagonists in my concepts are usually men of various races.

Sci fi and cyberpunk are my favorite genres.

You may have to self-publish at first, just to get around the walls erected by the ‘legit’ media. Whatever you do, let us know when and where to find it.

I am personally troubled that these individuals have infiltrated videogames with their agendas also.

You can barely find any that don’t try and stifle the dissent of people who can’t stand political correctness and all of its trappings.

No doubt.  Even my sister has observed that the straight, white man is the most reviled creature in existence.  Being reviled is no longer enough.  A straight, white man must also HATE himself and openly tell others that he is ASHAMED to have been born to this condition.  This last point is where you draw the ire of your peers.

So write your next story with a Strong White Female (Commander), a black man as second in command (First Officer), a gay man playing some second tier leadership position with the Commander’s ear, and an Asian/Indian/Middle Eastern female as Chief Engineer…and your stories will be a resounding success.  Oh, and don’t forget the EVIL straight white man who wants to kill all things good and replace with death and destruction.

The problem with the arts community and for that matter most younger people now days is they have all been through College or University and have been brainwashed by Left Wing politics and all it’s hypocrisy so they are merely drones, the equivalent of religious zealots if you like who just parrot garbage that they have been taught and accept it as unquestionable fact.

What I have noticed though is forums have been dying for the past 5 or more years, they were pretty active at one point, but with many Site Leaders who act like little dictators and their psychotic mod teams as well as members who seem to get away with breaking the rules etc It appears many people are just over it and so the number of forums dwindle.

As per usual I sit back and laugh.
