The problem is she tends to insult my family, constantly put down other employees. The list goes on and on. I mostly ignore her, but sometimes working with her is just so tiresome along with feeling like I’m dealing with a toddler. Should I just continue on ignoring her or should I talk to GM to see if there is a solution? Has anyone been in similar situations?

But it IS the answer you need.

Read “The 48 Laws of Power” by Robert Greene.

I know that’s not the answer you want to hear.

But it IS the answer you need.

I agree with Binary Logic, and I will ad this: Tune up your resume and start looking for a better job. Here’s another quote for you:

When I first flew to California, I met a businessman on the plane who was a CEO at a large company. His system was that when he got a job, he almost always started looking for the next job right away. He job-hopped all over the country until he became a CEO. If his goal was to get the boss’s job, he probably wouldn’t have been able to do that.
— Scott Adams from his book How to Fail at Almost Anything and Still Win Big: Kind of the Story of My Life.

Really, if you think you are stuck at where you are working now, you should read both books soonest! Eye opening, they will be!

Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

Take it from me:  the writing is on the wall.  There’s a price on your head and your detractor will not stop until she has it.

Been there, suffered for it–too many times over the years.

I know it sounds counter productive but in the words of Sun Tzu “The greatest fighters never receive accolades because their victories are easy.” (loosely quoted from memory). What he is saying; fighters who are diligent and prepared win with no drama, no casualties, nothing “news worthy.” Put away your internal senses of compassion and fair and realize this person is at war every minute, in every instant, let the testing behavior work, let it escalate and then smack it out of the park. Be the predator by not preying, let your quarry be over confident in their perceived security and soon her ego will over step the limits of even the worst work environment and no-one will be able to consciously or publicly side with the behaviors. Do nothing, be non-reactive, become a watcher by stepping back from the situation watch yourself and watch your thoughts, I promise you it will implode. Remember at the core this person is scared to hell of their own vulnerability and is helpless against their own ego and fear.

In the mean time run your race, get to work early, brush up your email skills, help your peers, live the company culture, you can handle the challenges. Nothing good comes without sacrifice. Get fueled by the energy created by your own power.

I work in an environment that is very similar and enjoy the freedom it offers once you realize you were given all the power and ability that is ever needed. What changed it all for me is realizing the power of being centered and non-reactive. I never get upset, its a simple rule. I know I have the knowledge and ability and so I have no fear in dealing with the worst people in the job. They are actually very uncomfortable interacting with me, not because I do anything to them or in spite of them, I help my peers and now my team, I do more than is expected, and create an environment of acceptance and appreciation. I took a course in human behavior in organizations that also helped immensely.

Soon you will be happy to watch this person act like a cat on a hot tin roof, jumping from one behavior to the next, frantic, stressed, and exhausted. Most martial arts are centered on using the assailants energy and movement against them, be like water. Good Luck!
