Anyone here dabbling in calisthenics?  I kinda avoid lifting weights due to minor back problems (I lift weights every now and then, but they do not represent the core of my workouts). Calisthenics seem much more friendly for the back, although you can also injure yourself if you are not too careful.

Anyway, to those of you who have tried doing this type of workouts: how do you advance? for instance, can you make the human flag? At 195 centimetres tall, I can’t to it, although I have no problems with pull-ups or core exercises. Furthermore, has any of you managed to do one-handed pull-ups?

Feel free to bring links, stories, and other stuff to the discussion.

Im a fan of lifting light weights with good, strict form and slow. Light is relative to the individual. Im liking the results a lot better and all you really need is a pair of 20 pound dumbbells from Walmart. I also use exercise bands with the handles. You would laugh at the amount of weight that I use on the deadlift. But i go slow and strict. It works for me. This allows me to work around my shoulder injury.

Why, Jon92, did you have any problems while doing calisthenics? I mean, were bodyweight exercises the source of your injury?

By the way, are there special calisthenics gyms in your cities? In my country, there are two of them, none of which in my city.
