In my daily life at work, should I imply I’m getting married, however dishonest that would be? My reasoning being that if I say or imply I’m getting married, it’s a (perhaps subconscious) sign to my employer that I’m basically about to get stuck into a state of working my ass off for a woman and children for years of my life. If I say I’m not getting married, then at some point I might end up with a lower pay. Is my thinking correct? So is a married employee an asset or a liability to an employer?

I don’t think that your employer really cares about married, unmarried or getting married. He always cares about what you can do for him, like women…hehe.

When you telling I’m getting married you will be questioned when, and this all six months or so. Sooner or later you appear implausible. If you say I’m getting married your employer has to accept that you have to care for your family in the future in particular if your wife is also working and your kid(s) are getting ill, e.g.

On the other hand, when you say I am not married and I will not get married your employer maybe think that you are prepared working over time maybe more often than your married co-workers. Firing you is also easier for him because he knows that you are more independently than married men and he has less social responsibility. This is more likely in smaller companies.

Anyway, dishonesty is seldom a good choice. If you are practising dishonesty it ends sooner or later in betraying yourself. NOT GOOD!

Hope I could help you a little bit.

CHEERS!!!

What would your respect level be to somebody that lies to you? And when you lie, it’s the first strand of a spiders web, Then it becomes habitual, then lies build like a tempest, out of control, people get hurt! If somebody asks you an incriminating question, don’t answer. It’s better than being a liar. I do not pry into anybody business (put them on the spot) any body that attempts this tactic on me, is told to go f~~~ themselves!

Just act as if “someday I might find my true lover”, that kind of bull.

But okay, got it, so basically just shut up about it and keep my own business to myself. Thanks for the responses chaps!
