I met with my lawyer – and the fun is just starting. An 8 month marriage is going to cost me over 8 thousand dollars to get out of. And I am probably getting off easy. Why? Because men always get screwed in the end. No children, no real estate, nothing jointly owned, but the definition of marital property was clearly written by either a mangina or a woman because me being the “man” and chief bread winner..well you know the rest. We no longer live in a Democracy..rather a C~~~ocracy. My soon to be ex meantime, who must be treated with sympathy and tenderness, had no problem buying a brand new car after her accident – worth nearly twice what mine is now. She gets that too, of course.

Dude don’t stress it because your health is more valuable than money. I know it’s easy to say however you can make that money back, getting good health is much harder to achieve.

Hey man you are talking to a lot of guys here that have been through that s~~~, so try not to get down.

Had I knot gotten married at 28, my life would be incredible now, but I made that stupid f~~~ing decision, and I had to pay for. And it hurt a lot, especially to my pride. But now I am almost 33, and I am way way way happier and more content for it. And once again, I am stacking chips and being myself unashamedly.

Hang in there bro. Good times are coming.

From what I saw on this site, you actually got really lucky.

Just grind your teeth and move forward. Money may be hard to get back, but sanity is harder, and in the end, that is what you are trading your money for.

Get a notebook and write down how you got f~~~ed over in detail, and all of your negative feelings on the subject while they are fresh and it stings. Add up all the expenses of the divorce, and add at the end “This lesson cost me $xxxx”. Then place what you’ve written in an envelope and label it “relationship advice for {your name}”. If you ever get nostalgic for relationships with women if it looks like it’s getting serious, read the letter to remind yourself of what can, and did happen to you. Years later you might be surprised at how much s~~~ you went through and forgotten. A reminder can make all the difference in not repeating a mistake.
