Now the news is painting the mother and child as “victims”.

My pal — who happens to hate kids — watched silently while one of the brats tripped up a waitress by running between her legs while she was carrying a heavy laden tray. (She recovered, barely, without dropping anything. That’s skill for you.)

The parents did nothing all this time. They didn’t even say “sorry” to the waitress.

Later on my pal stuck out his foot and tripped the little darling, sending it sprawling.

Epilogue: We got treated to extra nice service the rest of our stay. Somebody must have spotted his move. The parents certainly didn’t; they were too self-absorbed to so much as look up until their brat limped back to their table, bawling the whole way.
