I like the way Patrice O’Neal talks about dating and relationships. It’s funny and informative:

I dont “date”, either.
However the flags are for every type of “relationship” because it’s all relative (IMH0).
So I just call it interactions with other people. Anyone who displays a red flag to me now, gets relegated to the not eligible to receive my attention nor time bin.

From a slightly different angle. Someone smarter than me made a point here once about how men look for a reason to date a woman while women look for a reason to NOT date a guy. Comes from the men being one that asks out the woman. He is positive in his outlook while she is playing goalie.

After coming here and getting a better understanding of the relationship between men and women it has put me on defense. I know longer look for reasons why I WOULD date someone, I look for reasons why I WOULDN’T date someone. And to be honest it feels unnatural. It feels like a very negative outlook.

So I don’t date. No reason to look for red flags because they only mean something if you want to date someone.

Like tic-tac-toe or Globalthermal Nuclear War, the only way to win is if you don’t play the game. Now, how about a nice game of chess?
