I’ve seen it many times with both the active duty and the Guard/reserve guys who deploy.

The Guard wives learn pretty quickly once they have their first “support” meeting.

In almost every and any form of conversation the word ‘but’ usually negates everything stated prior to that word due to the manner in which it is used. I am not entirely sure if it is due to ignorance, functional illiteracy, or outright stupidity, as it (using the word but) adversely/negatively affects the interpretation and removes objectivity/neutrality of any and every statement.
Ironically(?)
This and other articles in the same vein were written by supposedly educated and trained people in the art of being wordsmiths (means builder of words/word building). It is surprising that they would go to the word “but” when the parent word or one of its appropriate substitutes would better serve the statement.
Technically the words but and however serve the same purpose; however, I reiterate my initial statement as to the effect of the usage vice its purported technical purpose.

Back to the fluff of the article.
What “woman’s” rights get hurt? Prove it
What negative effects? Prove them
What disparity in outcome? Prove them
Anecdotal commentary is not enough, show and PROVE it.
Just because someone says “this is the truth” does not make it so unless there is irrefutable evidence to support the statement. AKA PROOF
When anyone uses the term “my truth”, I call horse hockey/bovine excrement because there is your story my story and the frikkin truth.

When one initiates conflict of any type then receives a response in kind, that is a natural occurrence/result. To call it victim blaming is dishonest, disingenuous, and an outright lie. The initiator is rarely a victim regardless of the severity of the response.
If I kicked GSP (George St.Pierre) in the nutz, then he proceeds to hand my azz to the hospital/morgue am I the victim? Because I’m a man the answer is no, had I have been a women suddenly the answer is yes? Go squat on a fire plug with that narrative.

If anyone treats me poorly I will respond in kind if I deign to respond at all.

I clicked on it when I saw it this morning. About 2 lines in I called BS and aborted.

I’m not as hard core as some of the brothers here, I still “want to believe” that our society can make it, but it has become increasingly clear that there really is no chance for it at all.

If the world can be transformed in a mere 10 weeks then there’s is nothing for me to do but adapt.
So I go my own way, hide in plain site, and enjoy my time left here. I certainly can’t change things, or any bodies mind nor do I want to anymore. I’ll just exist and enjoy the nicer things.

I’m in this for me now. And only a very limited amount of others who are all male by the way.

PETA, throat cancer from skank hole, it’s all bad news.

it seems that no one cares. This article is just another example of how disposable society views men. Men have a greater percentage chance of dying but the world needs to ignore that and concentrate on how it affects women even worse. WHAT?
What the hell is worse than death? The four things the article cited are;
1 Women’s rights
Apparently only the women have had their rights trampled on. Men must not be subjected to the lockdown or inability to go do their jobs. Everything related to men and benefiting men must be open. I have yet to see it in my state.
2 Domestic Violence
Again, this gives the impression that domestic violence is only one sided. It’s just impossible to fathom that men are being locked into their homes with abusive women who beat them. If the man EVER decides to fight back, she can make the phone call and claim to be the victim.
3 Financial Hardships
Everyone is facing this and yet for women this is tougher? The typical jobs that were deemed unessential were the same jobs that most women go into. You know, the jobs they get and keep just long enough to snag a wallet with an essential job. Usually those jobs pay more as well. Funny how that works. More proof that women cannot handle serious situations.
4 Not thinking about anyone else
There you have it. Everyone should be worried about someone else, specifically WOMEN. When s~~~ gets real, women want to play the weak and fragile beings that NEED help and someone should step up and do that! What happened to the “you go girl mantra”? The ladies are starting to realize that this isn’t a movie.
